Chris Mann – photo by David WilliamsSo who is Chris Mann? I am originally from the UK, and I am a photographer by trade, working for my brother Andy’s company Tropical Imaging here in the Turks & Caicos Islands. We do all kinds of photography, but mostly it’s weddings and portraits, plus some commercial and editorial work for the hotels and for magazines. We also have a video side to the business making not only wedding videos but also promo pieces and educational DVDs for the TCI government. As well as shooting photos and video I also design wedding albums and fix the computers, so life is varied.
I’ve been living in Turks & Caicos since early 2003 and love living here. The cost of living can be high as everything has to be imported, and we don’t have big shopping malls or department stores, but the air is very clean and the climate is great year-round. And we have an amazing ocean to go scuba diving in (something I don’t do as often as I should given where I live!)
Currently I’m single, no kids – but I do have two nieces who live next door – with Andy of course and his wife Krystin, and Dixie the dog. The rest of the family – my mother Jean, my sister Jennifer and her two grown-up kids, and my other brother Simon – all live in the UK.
Apart from photography and diving I like to play the guitar – very badly (a great stress-reliever). Fortunately my house is far enough away from neighbours for it not to upset them!
